WCB Celebrates Grand Opening
Woodland Hills, Calif., March 17, 2006 – WCB, a new independent community business bank, celebrated its grand opening at a reception and ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, March 15. The event was held at the Bank’s headquarters at 21550 Oxnard Street, Suite 100, in Woodland Hills.
The Bank, which opened for business on February 6, 2006, provides financial services to small and mid-sized businesses, entrepreneurs and professionals in the San Fernando Valley, with special expertise in commercial real estate finance.
Guests were welcomed by Carl W. Raggio III, President and Chief Executive Officer, WCB, who thanked them for their support as founders, investors, clients and neighbors. “If it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a community to start a bank,” he said.
After the ribbon cutting, Jeffrey S. Malin, Policy Analyst for the Office of the Mayor, City of Los Angeles, presented Raggio with a certificate on behalf of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, welcoming the Bank to Woodland Hills. Certificates were also presented by Ignacio Rios, from Councilman Dennis Zine’s office, and Sherrie Keowen, representing California Assemblywoman Fran Pavley. Keowen is also the Chairman of the Woodland Hills Chamber of Commerce.
More than 250 people attended the grand opening, which was organized by Executive Vice President Gines Arnau in cooperation with the Woodland Hills Chamber of Commerce. “This was a real team effort on the part of the Bank’s entire staff,” said Arnau, citing the contributions of Juanita Potts, Executive Assistant, and Rose Goldwater, Director of Community Affairs, among the others on the Bank’s 13-member staff. “We are very pleased to be part of the dynamic San Fernando Valley business community,” said Raggio. “It has been rewarding to cultivate so many new relationships during our first month in business.”
